SOFTWARE QUALITY SPECIALIST



Job responsibility
The Software Quality Specialist will be responsible of developing and implementing different testing frameworks for the N(i)² Suite products. He or she will be asked to work in collaboration with different engineering groups in order to coordinate the development of test methods and specifications. The ideal candidate must be able to interpret requirements to plan, design, execute, evaluate and report results of software testing. He or she would have a minimum of 5 years of Software testing and quality experience with minimum 2 years of experience related to Enterprise Server Side architectures. He should be committed to improve software quality, test efficiency, and reusable test effectiveness. Experience in Enterprise scalable J2EE system is a clear plus



Required Formation
Bachelor degree in a computer / software related field with 5 years of relevant experience.



Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement methodology for Server Side J2EE Servers.
  • Develop and implement methodology for multi-tiered Secured Servers (Jaas, ldap, SSO are a plus).
  • Develop and implement methodology for performance/stress/scalability tests.
  • Performing integration, system and regression tests across multiple hardware platforms and operating systems, J2EE Application servers and databases.
  • Submitting defects into bug tracking database system and provide feedback to different engineering groups as needed.
  • Report / Analysis of test results against established standards and/or user requirements/technical specification documentation.
  • Work with different engineering groups to increase their knowledge and appreciation of required quality processes.
  • Supports the development of Quality team members from a technical level and mentor junior members on the team, by sharing experience and knowledge.
  • Performing / analyzing results of day-to-day testing of N(i)2 Suite applications.
  • Work with the QA Team Lead and the QA staff to refine software testing processes, tools and practices.
  • Other duties as required


Required skills
  • Deep knowledge of Enterprise J2EE Software Testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with all phases and types of testing including System, Integration, Regression, Stress, Security and Performance testing on Enterprise multi-tiers servers
  • Ability to write Test Plans
  • Familiar with J2EE Server Applications : such as Jboss or WebLogic Application Server
  • Knowledge of Java, J2EE, JUNIT
  • Knowledge of SQL Databases such as Oracle, SQL 2005 Server, Postgres and/or DB2 databases
  • Knowledge and experience with test automation tools
  • The ability to follow detailed use cases and translate them into practical test steps is required.
  • Ability to perform defined tasks and to take initiative to assure schedules and milestones are met.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate large amounts of information (e.g. the results of dozens of tests) in a clear format (e.g. charts, graphs, matrices) is required.
  • Fluency in French and English.
